Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms, equipment, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures. Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care in accordance with DHA and Al-Futtaim Health standards. Assist surgeons and anesthetists during surgical procedures. Perform patient assessments and ensure accurate documentation throughout the perioperative journey. Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols. Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery, identifying and escalating concerns promptly. Ensure surgical safety checklists are completed and documented. Manage theatre stock, equipment, and consumables efficiently. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and ongoing professional development activities.

Requirements

Desired Candidate Profile

 

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent recognized nursing qualification. Current DHA Registered Nurse License or DHA Eligibility Letter (mandatory). Current BLS certification (mandatory). ACLS certification preferred. Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, infection prevention, and patient safety standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Minimum 2 years of Operating Theatre nursing experience in an acute care hospital or surgical centre. Experience in scrub and circulating theatre nursing preferred. Experience supporting multiple surgical specialties such as General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, or Day Surgery is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment. Proficiency in electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
